Import and export preorder products

Bulk add or remove products in a preorder offer with a CSV, and export an offer's products as a backup.

Instead of adding products one at a time, you can bulk manage an offer's products with a CSV. Export the current list as a backup or reference, and import a CSV to add or remove products in bulk. Both live in the offer editor's Products section.

Export an offer's products

1

Open the offer's Products section

Click Preorders, open the Offers tab, click Edit on the offer, and scroll to the Products section.

2

Export to CSV

Click the menu in the Products section header and choose Export to CSV. STOQ emails the file to your registered address (large exports take a few minutes).

The file includes product titles and handles, variant details (SKU, title, options), inventory, pricing, and product and variant IDs. Keep exports as a backup before big changes.

Import products with a CSV

1

Open Import with CSV

In the offer's Products section, click the menu and choose Import with CSV.

2

Use the official template

Click the STOQ Preorder Import Template link, make your own copy of the Google Sheet, and follow its instructions. Custom CSV formats aren't supported.

3

Prepare your data

Add each product with an identifier (handle, SKU, or variant ID) and an action (add or remove), then download the sheet as a CSV (File > Download > Comma-separated values).

4

Upload and map columns

Drag your CSV into the upload area, then review the column mapping so your columns match the template fields, and confirm.

5

Start the import

Start the import. STOQ processes it in the background, and it appears under Recent imports.

Track an import

Recent imports shows each import's name, date, status (Not started, In progress, Success, or Failure), and how many products were processed. Click Refresh to update, and Show completed imports to see the last 30 days. If products failed, request a status report from the import row and STOQ emails you the details.

Good to know

  • Imports are per offer, so run a separate import for each offer.
  • Only one import runs at a time per offer, and an import can't be cancelled once started.
  • Failed rows don't stop the import, the rest continue, and the report lists what failed.
  • Import history is kept for 30 days.

Troubleshooting

The export email never arrived

Check spam and confirm your report email address in Settings.

Products weren't added after import

The identifiers likely don't match. Confirm the handles or SKUs match exactly what's in Shopify.

Import fails immediately

The file isn't formatted to the template. Re-download the official template and match the columns.

I can't find the Import option

It's inside the offer editor. Go to Preorders > Offers > Edit, then the Products section.
