Plans and billing
Every STOQ plan includes a monthly notification limit: the number of back in stock alerts you can send each calendar month. Stay within the limit and no additional charges apply beyond the plan subscription fee. On a paid plan you can choose to keep sending past the limit for a small per-notification fee, or pause instead. SMS alerts carry a separate per-segment cost on top of that.
Back in stock billing is part of the same STOQ subscription as preorders, there's no separate charge. See Plans and billing for preorders for the preorder side of the same plan.

For current subscription prices, go to Plans in the STOQ sidebar: the pricing cards always show live figures.
A "notification" counts one email or SMS alert sent to one customer, email and SMS both draw from the same monthly limit. SMS also costs a per-segment fee on top, see Set up SMS alerts for how segments are counted and priced by country.
How overage works by plan type
Free plan
You can send up to 30 back in stock notifications per month at no cost. Once you reach the limit, STOQ stops sending alerts until your limit resets at the start of the next calendar month, or you upgrade. Customers can still sign up for Notify me during this time, they just won't receive an alert until sending resumes.
Paid plans (Lite and Pro)
On Lite and Pro, you choose what happens at the limit:
- Continue sending beyond plan limit: STOQ keeps sending after you hit the limit, and charges the per-notification overage fee for each one above it.
- Stop at plan limit: STOQ pauses sending once you hit the limit. Customers can still sign up, they won't receive an alert until your limit resets or you upgrade.
SMS alerts incur their per-segment fee regardless of which option you pick, the overage fee only applies to notifications sent past your monthly limit.
Unlimited plan
The Unlimited plan has no notification limit and no per-notification overage fee. SMS alerts still incur the per-segment fee.
Choose how overage is handled
Open Plans
In STOQ, click Plans in the sidebar menu.
Open the Back in stock notifications section
Below the Usage card at the top of the page, click the Back in stock notifications row to expand it.
Select an option
- Click Stop at plan limit to pause alerts once you hit your monthly limit, until it resets or you upgrade.
- Click Continue sending beyond plan limit to keep sending after the limit, at the per-notification overage fee for your plan.
The first time you select Continue sending beyond plan limit, STOQ reviews the request before it takes effect. Until verified, a banner on this page explains alerts still stop at your limit.
This section is disabled on the Free plan, since overage isn't available, and on the Unlimited plan, since there's no limit to manage.
Track your usage
Open Plans
In STOQ, click Plans in the sidebar menu.
Read the Usage card
The Usage card at the top of the page shows a Back in stock alerts progress bar with your count against your plan limit for the current month. Click the count to open a breakdown of email versus SMS alerts sent, alerts by notification type, and, if you sent SMS, the number of segments billed.
Review a past month
Click See usage for and select a month from the list to review up to six months of history.
If you've sent notifications beyond your plan limit, the breakdown also shows an Overage notifications line with the count charged and the fee per notification.
FAQ
Does going over my notification limit affect my Notify me button?
No. The Notify me button and signup form keep working, and customers can still register, even after you hit your limit. Only the alert itself is paused or, if you've chosen to continue, sent with an overage fee.
Is the SMS fee instead of or on top of the overage fee?
On top of. The SMS per-segment fee is charged for every SMS sent, whether or not you're within your monthly limit. The overage fee is a separate charge that only applies once you've gone past your monthly notification limit, on email or SMS alike.
Do reminder alerts count toward my notification limit?
Yes. Reminder alerts and any other automatic back in stock notification STOQ sends count toward the same monthly limit as your initial restock alert.
Can I switch between Stop at plan limit and Continue sending beyond plan limit anytime?
Yes, from the Back in stock notifications section on the Plans page. Switching to Continue sending beyond plan limit for the first time requires STOQ to verify the request before it takes effect.
Why is the overage fee lower on Lite than on Pro?
Each plan sets its own per-notification overage rate, and Lite's is currently lower than Pro's. Check the pricing cards under Plans for the current rate on your plan.
