Show STOQ buttons on quick add and sticky bars
By default STOQ replaces the add-to-cart button on your standard product page and in supported collection grids. Some themes add extra places to buy: a Quick Buy (quick-add or quick-shop) popup, a featured product section on the home page, or a sticky add-to-cart bar that follows the customer as they scroll. These are separate product forms, so STOQ has to be pointed at each one for your specific theme. Once set up, the Preorder and Notify me button appear there too, reflecting live inventory and preorder status just like on the main product page.
Before you begin
- A paid STOQ plan. These placements are part of the Featured product and Quick Buy feature and are disabled on the free plan.
- The STOQ app embed enabled on your theme. See Enable STOQ on your theme.
- Your theme must actually have the surface you want the button on, a Quick Buy popup, a featured product section, or a sticky add-to-cart bar.
Choose your route
Quick Buy popups and home-page featured sections have a built-in request link in the button design controls. Sticky add-to-cart bars and any other custom secondary form are set up by contacting support directly.
| Surface | How to set it up |
|---|---|
| Quick Buy popup (collection, home, or search) | Request setup from the button design controls |
| Featured product section (home page) | Request setup from the button design controls |
| Sticky add-to-cart bar or other secondary product form | Contact support with your theme details |
Request Quick Buy or featured product setup
Open your button design controls
- For preorders: click Preorders in the left menu, then open your preorder widget design.
- For back in stock alerts: click Back in stock alerts in the left menu, open Design, then open the Notify me button customizer.
Find the placement for the page you want
In the per-page controls (Home, Collection, or Search), find the checkbox labelled 'Notify me'/'Preorder' on Quick Buy or 'Notify me'/'Preorder' on Featured products. It's disabled until the integration is built for your theme.
Click Request setup
Click the Request setup link next to the description. STOQ records the request, notifies the team, and the placement shows a Requested badge.
Wait for the team to build it
STOQ builds the integration for your theme, then emails and messages you in chat when it's ready. The checkbox becomes active.
Turn the placement on
Once it's active, tick the checkbox to show the button in that surface, and save.
Request a sticky bar or other custom form
A sticky add-to-cart bar, or any secondary product form that isn't a Quick Buy popup or home featured section, is configured directly by the STOQ team for your theme. There's no self-serve checkbox for it.
Open support chat
In the STOQ app, go to the Support section and click Chat with us.
Tell the team what you need
Say you want the Preorder or Notify me button on your sticky add-to-cart bar, and name your theme and a product page where the bar appears. The team maps the button to that surface for your theme.
It's a one-time setup and works automatically afterward, for both preorders and back in stock alerts. See Get help from STOQ for the other ways to reach the team.
Check your setup
- Open a storefront page that has the surface, for example a collection page with Quick Buy, or a product page with the sticky bar.
- Use an out-of-stock variant that's on preorder, or one with Notify me enabled.
- Confirm the Preorder or Notify me button shows inside the Quick Buy popup, featured section, or sticky bar, not just on the main product form.
Troubleshooting
The Request setup link isn't there
It only appears on a paid plan. Upgrade, then reopen the button design controls.
The checkbox is stuck on Requested
The team is still building the integration for your theme. You'll get an email and a chat message when it's ready, then the checkbox turns active.
The button shows on the main form but not the sticky bar
The sticky bar is a separate form that has to be set up on its own. Contact support to add it, since there's no self-serve checkbox for sticky bars.
The button stopped showing after a theme change
These placements are matched to your theme's structure. If you switch themes or a theme update changes the surface, contact support so the team can re-point the button.
FAQ
Can I set up a sticky add-to-cart bar myself?
No. Quick Buy popups and home featured sections have a Request setup link you can use, but sticky bars and other custom forms are configured by the STOQ team for your specific theme.
Does this work for both preorders and back in stock alerts?
Yes. The same placement shows the Preorder button for preorder variants and the Notify me button for out-of-stock variants.
Does it cost extra?
There's no separate charge, but these placements are a paid-plan feature, so you need a paid STOQ plan to request them.
Do I need theme code changes?
No. STOQ maps the button to the surface for you; you don't edit theme code yourself.
