Using STOQ

Change the STOQ dashboard language

Set the language STOQ's app dashboard shows in, from the home page or the Languages page.

Use this guide to change the language STOQ's dashboard (the app admin you work in) displays in. By the end, STOQ's menus, buttons, and settings will show in the language you pick. This is your own dashboard language and doesn't change anything customers see on your storefront.

Note

This is separate from the language your customers get. To translate the Notify me widget, preorder button, and alert emails or SMS, see Notify me in multiple languages and Preorder multi-language.

What it changes

  • Changes: the language of STOQ's own dashboard, its menus, section headings, buttons, and settings labels.
  • Doesn't change: any customer-facing text. Your storefront button, signup form, and back in stock and preorder emails and SMS keep their own language settings.

The dashboard language is set for your store, so anyone who opens STOQ for your shop sees it in the language you choose. The default is English.

Change it from the home page

1

Open STOQ's home page

Click the STOQ app in your Shopify admin to land on its home page.

2

Open the language selector

Find the language selector, a button showing your current language (for example, English) with a dropdown arrow.

3

Pick a language

Click it and choose the language you want from the list. The dashboard switches to it right away.

Change it from the Languages page

1

Open the Languages page

Open the Languages page in STOQ. It holds your dashboard language along with your customer-facing language settings.

2

Choose your language under Use STOQ in

Under Use STOQ in:, open the selector and pick your language. The dashboard switches to it right away.

Note

On the Languages page, Use STOQ in: sets your dashboard language, while Language for preorders & back in stock alerts controls the language customers receive. They're separate settings, changing one doesn't change the other.

FAQ

Does this change what my customers see?

No. It only changes STOQ's dashboard for you. Customer-facing text, the storefront button, forms, and alert emails and SMS, follows its own language settings.

Which languages can I choose?

The list in the selector reflects the languages STOQ's dashboard is translated into. Open the selector to see the current options.

Will my team see the same language?

Yes. The dashboard language is set for your store, so it applies whenever STOQ is opened for your shop, not per staff member.

It didn't change everything, some text is still in English

Most of the dashboard is translated, but a few newer strings may not be yet. If you spot something untranslated, let STOQ support know. See Get help from STOQ.
