How to Get Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Performance Summary Reports from STOQ

STOQ can send you performance summary reports by email on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. These reports give you a quick snapshot of your store's back-in-stock and preorder activity — including new signups, alerts sent, revenue, and your top-performing products. This guide explains how to enable each report type, what they include, and where to find the settings.

Before You Begin

Make sure the following are in place before enabling reports.

  • STOQ is installed on your Shopify store with the app embed enabled.
  • A valid email address is configured in your report settings. Reports are sent to the email address you specify in the settings.

How to Enable Performance Summary Reports

You can turn on daily, weekly, and monthly report emails from the Reports settings page.

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the STOQ app.
  2. Go to Reports > Settings (gear icon).
  3. In the Reports section, enter the email address where you want to receive reports.
  4. Under Usage reports, check the Send me a back in stock & preorder usage report checkbox. This reveals three frequency options:
  • Daily — Sends a report each day covering the previous day’s activity (based on your store’s timezone).
  • Weekly — Sends a report every week covering the last 7 days.
  • Monthly — Sends a report at the start of each month covering the previous calendar month.
  1. Check one or more frequency options.
  2. Click Save to apply your changes.

All three frequencies can be enabled at the same time. Unchecking the parent Send me a back in stock & preorder usage report checkbox disables all three at once. You can also uncheck individual frequencies to receive only the reports you want.

What the Reports Include

Each performance summary report email covers two main areas: back-in-stock activity and preorder activity for the reporting period.

Back-in-Stock Metrics

The report shows three key numbers for your back-in-stock alerts:

  • New signups — The number of customers who signed up for restock alerts during the period.
  • Alerts sent — The total number of back-in-stock notifications sent (email, SMS, and push combined).
  • Revenue — The total revenue attributed to back-in-stock alerts during the period.

Preorder Metrics

The report also shows your preorder performance:

  • Total — The number of preorder orders placed during the period.
  • Sales — The total revenue from preorder orders.

Top Products

The report includes two product rankings:

  • Top products in demand — The 10 products with the most back-in-stock signups during the period, listed with signup counts.
  • Best selling preorders — The 10 preorder products with the most orders during the period, listed with order counts.

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports Compared

All three report types contain the same metrics but cover different time periods.

You can enable all three to get daily updates, weekly summaries, and a monthly overview.

Other Report Notifications

In addition to the usage summary reports, the Reports settings page includes several other notification options:

  • Notify me when back in stock alerts are sent — Receive an email whenever STOQ sends back-in-stock alerts to your customers. See the detailed guide here
  • Notify me about new features & updates — Get emails about new STOQ features and product updates.
  • Notify me when payments are automatically collected for partially paid preorders — Get notified when STOQ collects remaining payments on partial-pay preorders.

These are independent of the daily, weekly, and monthly usage reports and can be toggled on or off separately.

FAQs

Q: Who receives the report emails?

A: Reports are sent to the email address configured in the Email address to receive reports field on the Reports settings page (Reports > Settings). This can be any email address — it does not have to be the store owner's email. You can change this address at any time.

Q: Why does my report show a dash (–) instead of revenue?

A: If your store's currency is not yet configured or detected by STOQ, the revenue fields may show a dash instead of a dollar amount. This resolves automatically once STOQ detects your store's currency from order data.

Q: Can I unsubscribe from reports without opening the STOQ app?

A: Yes. Each report email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will unsubscribe you from that specific report type (weekly or monthly). You can resubscribe at any time from the Reports settings page in the STOQ app.

Q: Why is my report empty or showing zero for all metrics?

A: If your report shows zeros, it means there was no back-in-stock or preorder activity during the reporting period. This can happen if no customers signed up for alerts, no notifications were sent, and no preorder orders were placed. Check your STOQ dashboard to verify the data for the time period in question.
