How to check analytics for signups, products, and notifications sent
Back in stock analytics in STOQ give you a complete picture of how your back-in-stock alerts are performing. The Overview tab inside the back-in-stock section shows summary metrics, interactive charts, and a product-level revenue breakdown — all filterable by date range.
Use this dashboard to track how much revenue your alerts recover, how many notifications you send, and which products drive the most sales.

Before You Begin
Make sure the following requirements are met before using back-in-stock analytics.
- STOQ is installed on your Shopify store.
- Back-in-stock alerts are active. You need at least a few sent notifications or recovered orders for data to appear in the charts.
- You are on a paid plan to use the CSV export feature. Free plans can still view all analytics data.
Access the Back in Stock Analytics Overview
The Overview tab is the first tab in the back-in-stock section.
- In your Shopify admin, open the STOQ app.
- Click Back in stock in the left navigation menu.
- Click the Overview tab at the top of the page.
The Overview tab loads with data from the last 30 days by default.

All data on the Overview tab responds to the date range picker. Click the calendar button in the top-left corner to change the time period.
Available Date Ranges
Preset | Time Period |

Last 60 days | Past 60 days |
Last 90 days | Past 90 days |
Last 6 months | Past 180 days |
Last 12 months | Past 365 days |
All time | All historical data |
Custom | Pick a specific start and end date |
When you select Custom, a calendar picker appears. Choose your start and end dates, then click Filter to apply.
Summary Cards
The Summary section sits at the top of the Overview tab. It shows eight key metrics for your selected date range.
Metrics Displayed
Metric | Description |
|---|---|
Total revenue | Total revenue recovered from back-in-stock alert orders |
Total orders | Number of orders attributed to back-in-stock alerts |
Average order value | Average value per back-in-stock order |
Customers | Number of unique customers who placed orders |
Waitlist signups | Total new signups received in the date range |
Notifications sent | Total back-in-stock notifications dispatched |
Emails sent | Number of email notifications sent |
SMS sent | Number of SMS notifications sent |
Each metric appears in its own card with an icon and the formatted value. Revenue and average order value display in your store's currency.

Analytics Chart (Revenue and Orders)
The Analytics chart shows your orders and revenue recovered from back-in-stock alerts over time as a line chart.
How to Read the Chart
- The chart title reads: "Your orders and revenue recovered from back in stock alerts."
- Use the Revenue and Orders radio buttons above the chart to toggle between the two views.
- Revenue — shows the monetary value recovered per time interval.
- Orders — shows the count of orders per time interval.
- The x-axis shows dates. The interval (daily, weekly, or monthly) adjusts automatically based on your selected date range.
- The y-axis shows values formatted as currency (for Revenue) or whole numbers (for Orders).
If no orders have been recovered yet, the chart displays an empty state: "Get your first few back in stock orders to see analytics."

Signups Chart
The Signups chart tracks how many waitlist signups you received over time as a bar chart.
- The chart title reads: "Your waitlist signups in the selected date range."
- Each bar represents the number of signups for that time interval.
- The time interval (daily, weekly, or monthly) adjusts automatically based on your selected date range.
If no signups have been recorded, the chart shows: "Get your first signup to see this chart."

Notifications Chart
The Notifications chart displays two data series side-by-side in a bar chart.
- Notifications sent (blue bars) — the number of back-in-stock notifications dispatched.
- Orders (orange bars) — the number of orders that resulted from those notifications.
This chart helps you understand your notification-to-order conversion rate. The description reads: "Your notifications sent & orders unlocked in the selected date range."
If no notifications have been sent, the chart shows: "Send your first back in stock alert to see this chart."

Products by Revenue Table
The Products by revenue table lists your top-performing products based on back-in-stock alert revenue.
Table Columns
Column | Description |
|---|---|
Image | Product or variant thumbnail image |
Product | Product title (and variant title, if grouped by variant) |
Units sold | Number of units sold through back-in-stock alerts |
Revenue | Total revenue attributed to back-in-stock alerts for that product |
Sort and Filter the Table
- Sort by Revenue or Orders. Click the sort dropdown to choose between Revenue (ascending/descending) or Orders (ascending/descending). The default sort is Revenue descending.
- Group by Variant or Product. Use the Group by filter to switch between viewing data at the variant level (default) or the product level.
Pagination
The table is paginated. Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom to navigate between pages.
Export to CSV
Click Export CSV at the bottom-right of the products table to export the data. The CSV file is sent to your registered email address. You see a toast notification: "Sent to {your email}".

How Charts Adjust to Date Ranges
STOQ automatically selects the best time interval for your charts based on the date range you pick.
Date Range | Chart Interval |
|---|---|
Short ranges (7–30 days) | Daily data points |
Medium ranges (60–90 days) | Weekly data points |
Long ranges (6–12 months or all time) | Monthly data points |
This ensures charts remain readable regardless of the time period. The exact intervals are determined by the server based on the number of data points.
Advanced Tips
These tips help you get the most out of back-in-stock analytics.
- Compare time periods. Switch between different date ranges to compare performance across months or seasons. Use the Custom range to compare specific promotional periods.
- Track notification effectiveness. Use the Notifications chart to see how many orders each batch of notifications generates. A low order-to-notification ratio may indicate your email template needs improvement.
- Identify top products. Sort the Products by revenue table by Revenue descending to quickly find your highest-performing back-in-stock products. Consider prioritizing restocking for these items.
- Monitor signups trends. The Signups chart shows demand patterns over time. Rising signups on specific products may indicate growing demand worth addressing.
- Group by product for a high-level view. If you have many variants, switch the Group by filter to Product to see aggregated performance per product.
Known Limitations
Keep these constraints in mind when using back-in-stock analytics.
- Beta feature. The Overview tab is currently in Beta, indicated by a badge next to the date picker. Features may change in future updates.
- CSV export requires a paid plan. The Export CSV button is disabled on free plans. Upgrade to access this feature.
- Data depends on order attribution. Revenue and order counts reflect only orders that STOQ can attribute to back-in-stock alerts. If a customer purchases without clicking the notification link, the order may not appear in analytics.
- Chart intervals are automatic. You cannot manually set daily, weekly, or monthly intervals. STOQ selects the best interval based on your date range.
- No real-time data. Analytics data may have a slight delay. The data reflects processed orders and notifications, not live activity.
Troubleshooting
Use the table below to resolve common issues with back-in-stock analytics.
Symptom | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
All summary cards show zero | No back-in-stock notifications have been sent, or no orders have been attributed in the selected date range. | Change the date range to All time to check if you have any historical data. Send your first back-in-stock alert to start generating data. |
Charts show empty state messages | No data exists for the selected date range. | Expand the date range or switch to All time. The charts populate once you have at least one signup, notification, or order. |
Revenue numbers seem too low | The date range may be too narrow, or order attribution is limited. | Expand the date range. Also check that your back-in-stock email templates include tracked links so STOQ can attribute orders. |
CSV export button is disabled | You are on a free plan. | Upgrade to a paid STOQ plan to enable CSV export. |
"Sent to {email}" toast but no email received | The CSV may take a few minutes to arrive, or it landed in spam. | Wait a few minutes and check your spam folder. The email is sent to the address configured in your STOQ report settings. |
Products table is empty but summary shows orders | The products may have been deleted from Shopify after the orders were placed. | Deleted products may not appear in the products table but their revenue still counts in the summary totals. |
FAQs

Q: Can I see analytics for a specific product?
A:The Products by revenue table shows per-product and per-variant data. You can sort by revenue or orders and group by product or variant to drill into specific product performance.
Q: What is the difference between the Analytics chart and the Notifications chart?
A: The Analytics chart shows revenue or order counts recovered from back-in-stock alerts over time (a line chart with Revenue/Orders toggle).
