Remove "Powered by STOQ" branding from signup popups

Overview

STOQ displays a small "Powered by STOQ" watermark at the bottom of the signup popup and in email notifications by default. If you are on a paid plan (Lite or above), you can remove this branding to keep your storefront and emails looking fully on-brand. This guide walks you through removing the "Powered by STOQ" label from both locations.

Where the "Powered by STOQ" Branding Appears

The "Powered by STOQ" watermark shows up in two places on your store.

  • Signup popup - The "Notify me" popup that customers see when they sign up for back-in-stock alerts on your product pages. The watermark appears at the bottom of the form, below the submit button.
  • Email notifications - The back-in-stock alert emails are sent to customers when you restock a product. The branding appears at the bottom of the email.

Both locations are controlled by a single setting, so disabling the watermark removes it from the signup popup and email notifications simultaneously.






Prerequisites

Before you can remove the branding, confirm that you meet this requirement.


  • A paid STOQ plan (Lite or above) is required. The option to remove the watermark is locked on the Free plan. If you are on the Free plan, you will see an upgrade prompt next to the checkbox.
Tip: To check or change your plan, go to Settings in the left menu bar.


How to Remove "Powered by STOQ" Branding from Signup Popups


Follow these steps to turn off the "Powered by STOQ" watermark.


  1. Open the STOQ app from your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Back in stock alerts in the left menu bar.
  3. Click the Signup widget tab.
  4. Click Customize Widget.
  5. Select the Signup form tab at the top.
  6. In the sidebar, click Form content.
  7. Scroll down to find the Show 'Powered by STOQ' watermark checkbox.
  8. Uncheck the checkbox to disable the watermark.
  9. Click Save in the top save bar to apply your changes.







Note: This single setting removes the "Powered by STOQ" branding from both the signup popup on your storefront and the back in stock email notifications sent to customers.


Verifying the Change on Your Storefront


After saving, confirm that the branding has been removed.


  1. Visit your online store and navigate to an out of stock product.
  2. Click the Notify me button to open the signup popup.
  3. Check that the "Powered by STOQ" text no longer appears at the bottom of the form.
Tip: If you still see the watermark, clear your browser cache or open the page in an incognito/private window. Cached versions of the storefront may take a moment to update.


Verifying the Change in Emails

You can also confirm the branding is removed from email notifications.

  1. Go to Back in stock alerts > Notifications tab.
  2. Open any email template to view the preview.
  3. Confirm that the "Powered by STOQ" logo and text no longer appear at the bottom of the email.


Known Limitations

Keep these points in mind when managing the "Powered by STOQ" branding.


  • The option to remove branding is only available on paid plans (Lite or above). Free plan users cannot uncheck the watermark checkbox.
  • The setting applies globally. You cannot show the watermark on some products or pages and hide it on others.
  • Removing the watermark from the signup popup and email notifications is controlled by the same checkbox. There is no way to remove it from one but keep it in the other.
