How to show the notify me button on different page types

By default, the "Notify me" button only appears on individual product pages. STOQ also lets you add the Notify Me button to collection pages, your home page, search result pages, and custom pages. This way, customers can sign up for back in stock alerts without opening the product page — making it easier to capture more signups across your store.

Each page type has its own toggle and settings inside the Customize widget editor. You can enable or disable the button per page, customize its colors, and control when it appears.

How to Access Page Settings

All page-level settings for the Notify Me button live in the same place. Follow these steps to reach them:

  1. In the STOQ app, go to Back in stock alerts from the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Signup widget tab.
  3. Click Customize widget.
  4. In the left sidebar under Pages, click Collection, home & search to expand the section.

You will see four options: Collection page, Home page, Search page, and Custom pages. Click the one you want to configure. Each page type has its own settings panel described in the sections below.

After making changes to any page type, click Save changes in the top bar to apply.

Collection Page

Click Collection page in the sidebar to open its settings. This adds the Notify Me button to product cards on your collection pages.

  • Check the 'Notify me' on Collection pages checkbox to enable the button.
  • Customize the button's Text and Background colors using the color pickers.

Show Button if Any Variant Is Out of Stock

By default, the Notify Me button appears on a product in the collection page only if the entire product or the default selected variant is out of stock. If you want the button to show when any variant is out of stock, enable the "Show 'Notify me' button if any variant is out of stock" checkbox.

When enabled, the button appears on a product card even if only one variant (for example, a specific size or color) is unavailable.

Home Page

Click Home page in the sidebar to open its settings. This adds the Notify Me button to product listings on your store's home page.

  • Check the 'Notify me' on Home page checkbox to enable the button.

Note: The home page button uses the same text and background colors as your main Notify Me button style. To customize colors specifically for collection pages, use the color pickers in the Collection page settings.

Search Page

Click Search page in the sidebar to open its settings. This adds the Notify Me button to search result pages so customers can sign up for alerts when they search for out-of-stock products.

  • Check the 'Notify me' on Search page checkbox to enable the button.

Custom Pages

Click Custom pages in the sidebar. If you have built custom pages for your collections or products (for example, a custom landing page or a lookbook), STOQ's team can set up the Notify Me button for those pages.

  • Click the Chat with our team link to open a support chat and request the integration.

The STOQ team will configure the button placement for your custom page layout.

Enable Quick Buy Integration

If your Shopify theme supports Quick Buy (also called "Quick View" or "Quick Add"), you can add the Notify Me button inside the Quick Buy popup on collection, home, and search pages. This is available as a separate checkbox within each page type's settings.

  1. Open the settings for Collection page, Home page, or Search page (using the navigation steps above).
  2. Below the main settings, you will see the 'Notify me'/'Preorder' on Quick Buy option.
  3. Click the Request setup link to ask the STOQ team to build the Quick Buy integration for your theme.
  4. Once the team completes the setup, the checkbox will become active and you can enable or disable it.

Note: Quick Buy integration requires a paid STOQ plan. If the checkbox is not available, it means your theme does not have a Quick Buy popup, or the integration has not been set up yet. Click Request setup to ask the STOQ team to build the integration for your theme.

If your home page includes a Featured product section (a full product block, not just a product card in a grid), you can also enable the Notify Me button for that section. Check the 'Notify me'/'Preorder' on Featured products - Home checkbox in the Home page settings and click Request setup if the integration has not been set up yet.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

Button does not appear on the collection/home/search page

Make sure the checkbox for that page type is enabled and you clicked Save changes. Also confirm your STOQ app embed is turned on in your Shopify theme settings. Visit Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds and make sure the STOQ embed is active.

Button appears twice on a page

This can happen with certain themes. Contact STOQ support and the team will fix the button placement for your theme.

Button appears on in-stock products

By default, the button only shows on out-of-stock products. If you enabled "Show button if any variant is out of stock," the button will appear on products where at least one variant is unavailable — even if other variants are in stock.

Quick Buy checkbox is disabled

Quick Buy integration requires a paid plan. If you are on a paid plan and the checkbox is still disabled, your theme may not support Quick Buy, or the integration has not been set up yet. Click Request setup to request it.

Button color does not match my store

Collection pages have their own text and background color pickers. Make sure you set the colors in the Collection page settings. Home and search pages use the main Notify Me button colors.

FAQs

Q: Do I need a paid plan to show the Notify Me button on collection and home pages?

A: The collection and home page button toggles are available on all plans. However, some features like Quick Buy integration require a paid plan (Lite, Pro, or Unlimited).

Q: Can I customize the button colors separately for each page type?

A: Collection pages have their own text and background color pickers. Home and search pages use the same colors as your main Notify Me button style configured in the Button position & style section.

Q: Will the button show on all collection pages or can I choose specific collections?

A: When you enable the Notify Me button for collection pages, it applies to all collection pages across your store by default. However, you can show or hide the button on specific collections. See How to Show or Hide the Notify Me Button on Specific Collections for step-by-step instructions.

Q: What does the Quick Buy integration do?

A: If your theme has a Quick Buy (Quick View) popup that lets customers add products to cart without visiting the product page, the Quick Buy integration adds the Notify Me or Preorder button inside that popup for out-of-stock products. This is set up per page type (collection, home, search) and requires a paid plan.

Q: What if my theme does not support Quick Buy?

A: If your theme does not have a Quick Buy popup, you can skip the Quick Buy checkbox. The regular Notify Me button on the product card will still work on collection, home, and search pages when enabled.

Q: Can I add the button to a custom landing page?

A: Yes, but custom page integrations require manual setup by the STOQ team. Go to Customize widget > Custom pages and click Chat with our team to request the integration. The team will configure the button for your custom page layout.
