How to get weekly and monthly performance summary reports from STOQ
STOQ sends weekly and monthly performance summary reports straight to your inbox so you can track how your back-in-stock alerts and preorders are doing without logging in. Each report email includes key metrics like new signups, alerts sent, revenue recovered, and your top-performing products — covering both back-in-stock and preorder features.
These automated emails are enabled in your Reports settings and arrive on a regular schedule. The weekly report covers the last 7 days. The monthly report covers the previous calendar month.

Before You Begin
Make sure the following requirements are met before setting up performance summary reports.
- STOQ is installed on your Shopify store.
- A valid email address is set in your Reports settings. Reports are sent to the email configured under Email address to receive reports.
- At least one feature is active (back-in-stock alerts or preorders). The report shows data for whichever features you use.
Enable Weekly and Monthly Reports
Both report types are controlled from the Reports settings page.
Steps to Enable
- In your Shopify admin, open the STOQ app.
- Go to Reports from the left navigation menu.
- Click the more menu (⋮) in the top-right corner, then select Settings.
- Under the Reports section, confirm the Email address to receive reports field has your preferred email address.
- Check the box for Send weekly report on usage to receive weekly reports.
- Check the box for Send monthly report on usage to receive monthly reports.
- Click Save in the top bar.
You can enable one or both report types. Each operates independently.

What the Weekly Report Includes
The weekly report covers the last 7 days of activity. It is sent automatically on a recurring schedule.
Email Subject
The email arrives with the subject line: "STOQ | Your weekly back in stock alerts report"
Report Sections
The email contains the following sections:
Back in Stock Metrics
Three metric cards at the top of the email:
Metric | Description |
|---|---|
New signups | Number of new waitlist signups received in the last 7 days |
Alerts sent | Number of back-in-stock notifications dispatched in the last 7 days |
Revenue | Total revenue recovered from back-in-stock alert orders in the last 7 days |
Preorder Metrics
Two metric cards below the back-in-stock section:
Metric | Description |
|---|---|
Total | Number of preorder orders placed in the last 7 days |
Sales | Total revenue from preorder orders in the last 7 days |
Top Products in Demand
A table listing your top 10 back-in-stock products sorted by signup count. Each row shows:
- Product name — the product title (including variant title for multi-variant products).
- Signups — the number of waitlist signups for that variant.
If no back-in-stock products had signups in the period, the section shows: "No back in stock products found."
Best Selling Preorders
A table listing your top 10 preorder products sorted by order count. Each row shows:
- Product name — the product title (including variant title where applicable).
- Orders — the number of preorder orders for that product.
If no preorders were placed in the period, the section shows: "No pre-order products found."

What the Monthly Report Includes
The monthly report covers the previous calendar month (from the first day to the last day of the month). It is sent automatically at the start of each new month.
Email Subject
The email arrives with the subject line: "STOQ | Your monthly back in stock alerts report"
Report Sections
The monthly report contains the same sections as the weekly report:
- Back in stock metrics — New signups, Alerts sent, and Revenue for the previous month.
- Preorder metrics — Total preorders and Sales for the previous month.
- Top products in demand — Top 10 back-in-stock products by signups.
- Best selling preorders — Top 10 preorder products by order count.
The only difference is the date range. The email header reads: "Here's your monthly report for STOQ [Month Start] - [Month End, Year]."
Change the Report Email Address
Reports are sent to the email address configured in your Reports settings.
- Go to Reports → click the more menu (⋮) → Settings.
- Update the Email address to receive reports field with your preferred email.
- Click Save.
All report-related emails (weekly reports, monthly reports, CSV exports, and other notifications) are sent to this address.
Unsubscribe from Report Emails
You can unsubscribe from report emails in two ways.
From the Email
Each weekly and monthly report email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it to stop receiving that specific report type. An unsubscribe confirmation page appears with an option to re-subscribe if you change your mind.
From the STOQ App
- Go to Reports → click the more menu (⋮) → Settings.
- Uncheck Send weekly report on usage to stop weekly reports.
- Uncheck Send monthly report on usage to stop monthly reports.
- Click Save.
Advanced Tips
These tips help you get the most out of your performance summary reports.
- Use both report types together. The weekly report helps you spot short-term trends and react quickly to demand spikes. The monthly report gives you a broader view for planning inventory and marketing.
- Monitor your top products in demand. The top 10 products table in the report shows which variants have the highest demand. Prioritize restocking these items to maximize revenue recovery.
- Compare weekly reports over time. Save or forward your weekly report emails to track performance trends week over week without logging in.
- Check revenue alongside signups. A high signup count with low revenue may indicate that your notification email template needs improvement to drive conversions. A high revenue figure confirms your alerts are working well.
- Review preorder best sellers. The Best selling preorders table helps you identify which preorder products are most popular so you can plan future launches accordingly.
Known Limitations
Keep these constraints in mind when using performance summary reports.
- Fixed schedules. You cannot change when reports are sent. Weekly reports cover the last 7 days. Monthly reports cover the previous calendar month.
- Single email recipient. Reports are sent to the email address configured in Reports settings. You cannot send reports to multiple email addresses directly. To share reports with your team, forward the email or update the email address to a shared inbox.
- Top 10 products only. The product tables in the report show a maximum of 10 products. For a full product breakdown, use the in-app analytics on the back-in-stock or preorder Overview tabs.
- Revenue requires currency setup. If your store's currency is not configured, the revenue fields display a dash (–) instead of a formatted amount.
- No customization of report content. You cannot choose which sections appear in the report email. All sections (back-in-stock metrics, preorder metrics, top products, best selling preorders) are always included.
Troubleshooting
Use the table below to resolve common issues with performance summary reports.
Symptom | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Not receiving weekly or monthly reports | The report checkbox may be unchecked, or the email address field is empty. | Go to Reports → Settings and confirm both the email address and the relevant checkbox are set. Click Save. |
Report email lands in spam | Your email provider may flag automated emails. | Add |
Revenue shows a dash (–) instead of a number | Your store's currency may not be configured. | Ensure your Shopify store has a currency set. STOQ uses your store's currency for formatting revenue values. |
Top products table shows "No back in stock products found" | No waitlist signups were received during the report period. | This is expected if no customers signed up for back-in-stock alerts in the covered time window. Check that your signup widget is active and visible on your storefront. |
Preorder section shows "No pre-order products found" | No preorder orders were placed during the report period. | This is expected if no preorders occurred. Verify that your preorder offers are active and products are available for preorder. |
Unsubscribed but still receiving reports | You may have unsubscribed from one report type but not the other. | Check both checkboxes in Reports → Settings. Weekly and monthly reports are independent — unsubscribing from one does not affect the other. |
